Donegal tweed is so named because it originates from County Donegal in the province of Ulster, Ireland. Today, the term Donegal describes any tweed that has colorful thick slubs woven into the fabric. The flexible, heavier weight fabric has a slightly rough texture, and has been modernized by introducing a blend of fibers to enhance strength and cost efficiency. The Donegal tweed blend fabric is available in a variety of patterns including houndstooth, herringbone and twill ribbing.

Overall Rating for Donegal Tweed Blend Fabric
|4||(based on 1 review)| This was a little lighter weight than I expected (it, and
the full wool version, is 10.5 ounces). But otherwise it's a great,
classic looking fabric.
Classic style, lightweight tweed.
