Interfacing fabric, also known as interlining fabric, is the unseen workhorse of the garment industry: it adds structure, body, volume and durability to any item of clothing, from the sheerest silk dress to sturdy tweed or wool coats, from inside the garment.
Interfacing fabric is available in two varieties: fusible and sew-in. Fusible fabrics are applied using an iron and are pre-treated with glue, while sew-in interfacing fabrics are stitched into the garment. The interfacing and interlining fabrics at NY Fashion Center Fabrics come with detailed instructions regarding usage and care, and are available in a wide variety of weights, widths, and colors.
