Melton wool fabric is a thick, heavy, tightly woven fabric, composed of 95% wool with 5% nylon for added strength and durability, with a heavily brushed nap, giving the material a smooth finish with no visible weaving yarns. Available in a variety of colors, melton wool can frequently be found in warm and insulating coats and blankets, as well as reproductions of 17th to 20th century military uniforms and overcoats.

Melton wool is a perfect choice for thick, warm coats, trousers, blankets and historical clothing replications.

CARE: Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with a mild soap, rinse thoroughly, lay flat to dry. Dry cleaning is also advisable.
