Sequins Fabric

Sequins make a wonderful accent in all types of fashion and clothing including blouses, dresses, jackets, and accessories. Traditionally, sequins were used in the ancient Middle East dating back many centuries, and in their earliest days appeared in the form of coins with holes bore through the middle for fastening to fabric. The word ‘sequin’ actually comes from the Arabic word for ‘coin’. Today, sequins can be made from plastic and may be stitched flat to the fabric so there is no movement, or they can be stitched so they move easily and shine with more light. The luster of light reflecting off of sequins is one of its desired properties.

Sequins fabrics are also excellent choices for dancewear, skating outfits (they are stitched onto spandex fabric), evening gowns, handbags, and a variety of other garments. A staple in high-end luxury wear, sequins also add an element of fun and playfulness and make the wearer feel bold yet not overly flamboyant.
