Zibeline fabric was traditionally made from animal hair, beginning with sable and then progressing to alpaca and camel. Silk zibeline is a heavy silk fabric, with a long, defined nap running in one direction combined with a twill weave, adding its own extra suggestion of body to the textile's feel. Zibeline holds its shape very well due to the ridged weave, while the matte finish allows it to be used for more everyday garments. Silk zibeline is ideal for suits and other tailored attire, and dry cleaning is recommended.
