Gaining prominence in the late 19th Century, terry cloth is a fabric geared towards rest and relaxation. Used extensively for bathrobes, slippers and towels, the superb absorbency and light touch of the material make it extremely popular. Cotton terry is a very durable fabric, both machine washable and dryable.
