Tips and Tricks:
- Generally, seersucker is pretty easy to sew and doesn’t require special treatment.
- The only really tricky part is pressing.
- True seersucker has a crinkly texture that comes from the way that it is woven: threads pull in such a way that the fabric wrinkles. So even if you press a seam and it loses its texture, the crinkles will return once it’s been washed and dried.
- Machine wash/dry three times to shrink. To avoid excess fraying, serge the ends separately or stitch them together before shrinking.
- Use all purpose cotton or polyester thread.
- Topstitching, serged or faux flat fell seams are suggested. Use a lower temperature or press cloth when pressing
Care:
Can be machine washed and tumble dried or air dried.
