Cotton Micro Brush Twill is a type of textile weave with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs. This is done by passing the weft thread over one or more warp threads and then under two or more warp threads and so on, with a "step" or offset between rows to create the characteristic diagonal pattern. Because of this structure, twills generally drape well.

In a twill weave, each weft or filling yarn floats across the warp yarns in a progression of interlacings to the right or left, forming a distinct diagonal line. This diagonal line is also known as a wale. A float is the portion of a yarn that crosses over two or more yarns from the opposite direction. A twill weave requires three or more harnesses, depending on its complexity. A twill weave is the second most basic weave that can be made on a fairly simple loom.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Wash and machine dry several times to preshrink and remove excess dye
  • Use Polyester thread for more elastic seams and to reduce seam failure
  • To machine stitch through multiple thicknesses easily, rub seams and hems with a bar of Ivory soap to lubricate the needle or pound with a cloth covered hammer to soften fibers. When crossing bulky seams use a shim to level the presser foot and prevent skipped stitches
  • When topstitching leg then the stitch 3-4mm. Use a topstitching needle which has a deeper groove. Use a twin needle to double stitch. Use cotton covered Polyester thread which will fade with the denim
  • Use faux flat-fell seams to duplicate the look of real flat fell seams which are generally too bulky
  • To prevent hems from curling, serge the raw edge. Fuse hem in place and topstitch with a wide twin needle. If a twin needle is not available, edge stitch; then topstitch again

Machine washable in any temperature of water. To reduce abrasion, turn the garment wrong-side out before washing and hang to dry
